This year, Easter Sunday falls on April 12th. Easter Sunday activities include colorful Easter parades, Easter Sunday religious services and the always exciting Easter egg hunt! The anticipation in preparing for an Easter egg hunt can only be matched by the excitement many children experience leading up to and during the actual hunt itself.

Preparations for the Easter egg hunt include selecting a location, choosing decorative crafts and paints for the eggs, boiling the eggs, painting them and then hiding the eggs around the lawn or yard. Pastel colors work best for egg-dipping, as they are bright enough to see even through tall grass. On Easter Sunday, at least one parent will have to dress as the Easter Bunny during the hunt, requiring them to wear an oversized bunny costume.

As for the children, the fun usually begins at daybreak, when they awaken to find Easter baskets filled with Easter candies and chocolates. The madcap excitement continues as they get dressed in their favorite Easter Sunday costume.

Get a head start on the festivities. Pick an outfit for the kids from the following children’s Easter costumes, such as:

1. Rabbit or bunny costume
2. Marshmallow Peep or other Easter candies like Jelly Beans
3. Religious or Biblical figure like Jesus, Joseph, or the Virgin Mary

And these ever-popular costumes that children always enjoy dressing in:
4. Fairy or Pixie such as Tinker Bell
5. Superhero
6. Fairytale Princess or Disney Princess like Aurora or Jasmine
7. Swashbuckling Pirate like Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean
8. Angel

Easter Gift Basket Ideas For 2009 Becoming a Struggle?
By Mike Lombard

Many people believe that an Easter gift basket should contain the requisite eggs and chocolates but this is not the case. An Easter basket can contain anything that the giver believes the recipient will appreciate.

Food Items For An Easter Gift Basket

Some of the usual foods that you may find in the store bought baskets are items such as chocolate shaped Easter bunnies, chocolate eggs, candy chicks and the like.

You may also notice that many Easter baskets have hard boiled eggs in them that are painted and decorated with felt pens, food coloring, and permanent markers which can look pretty affective. You can never go wrong with the personal touch however. Give those store bought Easter gift baskets a wide birth for 2009 and come up with your own ideas. Last year I made an Easter bunny sock puppet that made my son laugh for ages. Little ideas like these are always the best.

You can always bulk up your Easter gift basket with some gourmet teas & coffees, cakes & muffins, and Easter cookies.

The possibilities are really only limited by your imagination when considering Easter gift basket ideas for 2009. If you have a friend that has just lost his or her job and is struggling during this financially trying time, then you can always put together an Easter basket that contains groceries. By disguising your food package as an Easter gift basket, you will help spare the feelings of the recipient who may feel too proud to take it otherwise.

I Don’t Want Food for My Easter Basket

We’ve all probably eaten enough chocolate and cakes over Christmas to last us a lifetime. So if you’re looking for some Easter gift basket ideas that aren’t of the food variety then some great ones are items such as flowers, scented Easter candles, house hold items and others.

I guess it all depends on your relationship with the recipient as to how personal the Easter basket will be. I am making my daughter an Easter basket for 2009 and will fill it up with all her favourite perfumes and toiletries as she is not that keen on chocolate. You can also adopt this Easter gift basket idea for your family too.

Another great idea that usually goes down well with those who are religious is a picture book depicting Easter scenes as described in the bible. This kind of basket is obviously not for everyone, but how about some sex and the city DVDs or the latest album by Madonna for your basket.

No matter what Easter gift basket ideas you choose to adopt for 2009 you can be certain that they will be well received. Easter gift baskets are fun, simple, and thoughtful gifts for family, friends, and colleagues alike.

For the most up to date information about Easter basket ideas 2009, This is the only resource you will ever need:

Devon is without doubt one of the most popular destinations in the UK. This huge county has everything that you could wish for to give you and your family the most fun-filled and exciting Easter breaks in Devon. Why not choose from the following list, or even try all ten?

Family breaks and self-catering accommodation

Self-catering accommodation is the perfect way to plan an Easter break in Devon. It gives you the flexibility to plan your break around your own itinerary and not around hotel timetables or menus. Devon has a huge range of self-catering accommodation available for families of all sizes. From fisherman’s cottages on the coast through to large houses that can accommodate family groups of up to 22 people, Devon has every type of self-catering accommodation available. Many providers are dog friendly, so there’s no reason to leave the pet at home!

Surfing

The north coast of Devon has some of the best surfing beaches in the UK and with a mild climate and the effects of the Gulf Stream warming the coastal waters, it offers visitors the perfect opportunity to try this exciting sport. The best surfing beaches are also ideal for families with young children, as the waters are shallow and safe for swimming.

Theme parks and Zoos

During an Easter break in Devon the children will need entertainment. Devon has a wealth of theme parks and award winning zoos that all open their doors for the Easter holidays. Even if the weather takes a turn for the worse, there are plenty of indoor attractions to keep everyone of all ages entertained and amused.

South West Coastal Path

If you enjoy hiking, the South West Coastal Path gives walkers the opportunity to explore the entire coastline, both north and south. The wild north coast is lined with dramatic cliffs with spectacular views over the Atlantic, while the south coast is rich in Jurassic history and is designated a World Heritage Site.

Fishing

Devon has some superb rivers, with some of the best salmon and trout fishing in England. If you enjoy offshore fishing, charterboats are available at most of the ports along the coast.

Activity holidays

Easter breaks in Devon are the ideal opportunity to indulge in your favourite outdoor activity. Hundreds of miles of bridlepaths and trails are perfect for mountain-biking fans, the rivers allow ample opportunity for canoeing and kayaking and rock climbing on the moors is always popular.

Romantic breaks

Self-catering accommodation in Devon offers plenty of chances to indulge in a romantic break away this Easter. The stunning countryside is the perfect setting for a romantic walk amongst the bluebells or a stroll along a beach.

Theatres and Concerts

Despite being a primarily rural location, Devon has some superb concert and theatre venues that really come into their own during the Easter break. West End shows and touring theatre productions bring a touch of glamour to an Easter break in Devon (with the benefit of much cheaper ticket prices!) and music of all kinds plays an important part in the culture of the region. Festivals and events are planned throughout the country during Easter, so check what’s happening in your area.

City breaks

Devon’s county town of Exeter is a mix of ancient culture and modern life, while the naval city of Plymouth is a vibrant and evolving city that is proud of its seafaring heritage. Easter breaks in Devon don’t have to be rural – for those who love the bright lights there’s plenty of opportunities to enjoy a city break as well.

By the sea

The English Riviera is the perfect location for a traditional, seaside holiday or if you’re looking for somewhere off the beaten track there are plenty of secret coves and deserted beaches to discover. If you like being by the sea, Easter breaks in Devon provide plenty of choice for a perfect seaside break.

Ask a person what animal they associate with Easter and chances are it will be a bunny or a chick. For me, it is a mouse.

When I was nine years old my mother decided to put on a bumper Easter lunch. The family had scattered after the Christmas season so it would be the first gathering of the whole clan- our family of five and both sets of grandparents for a while.

Easter week was a perfect spring postcard. The blossoms were budding on the branches in our garden by the sea and a little snail of crocuses lined the path down to the Summerhouse. I was volunteered to pick some daises to sprinkle in painted eggcups, my reluctant brothers to fetch daffodils for the vases.

My mother, meanwhile, tied on an apron and set to work preparing an enormous leg of lamb and baking the traditional treats, a simnel cake and my favorite hot cross buns.

On Easter Saturday we all pitched in to lay a special table with yellow candles and napkins and tiny fluffy chicks perched on the flower centerpiece. But on the side plates, where usually an Easter egg wrapped in a colourful ribbon would sit, there was nothing!

After much earnest negotiation, I had been given license to mastermind the Easter gifts. They were hidden away awaiting the ‘grand reveal’ on Easter Sunday morning.

When my mother first gave me the money to execute my sweet-toothed plan, I struggled make a decision. The entire family had given up chocolate for Lent, thrilling and challenging for me, hideous and irritating to my brothers. So I was consumed with craving and, feeling the anticipation a 40-day abstinence would create.

What to do? Long-time favourites? Variations on a theme? Above all, I didn’t want to be predictable. I wanted to create a memorable display.

Swinging from a huge branch at the end of our garden one day inspiration struck: I would make trees out of kitchen towel cardboard tubes to which I would attach egg-carton nests, filled with toffee candy and chocolate eggs.

I could make four or five for us all to share and embellish them with vines, leave and flowers. Which is exactly what I did.

Even though it took several painstaking sessions with coloured tissue card and paint brushes to complete the trees I was delighted to finally place the multi-coloured silver foil eggs on the shredded straw.

On Easter Saturday night I found the perfect corner to conceal them, covered with tea towels under a chair against the wall in the dining room. After which I went to bed and slept restlessly until the sun beamed through the curtains in my bedroom and awoke me early on Easter Sunday morning.

Following the service at our pretty local church, milk chocolate fantasies largely displacing prayers, I raced home eager to present the chocolate egg trees at the table in a moment of high drama.

When the lunch was ready my brothers congregated the family. Everyone was seated and patiently waiting as I announced a triumphant ‘Ta-da’ and whisked the cover off my goodies to transport to the table.

But the gasps were not the ones of admiration I had hoped for, the drama not the sort I had planned. The trees were in tatters, the leaves ripped off, the straw tumbling out and the eggs half unwrapped, half-eaten.

Whereupon Bedlam. Fearing them sabotaged I rounded on my brothers who each accused the other, before my father stepped in suggesting a mouse could be the culprit.

Which my hard-of-hearing grandpa took to be a call to arms, jumping to his feet brandishing a fork and my mother feared to be one of a number of rodents over-running her home, causing her to shriek and drop the gravy.

Followed, of course, by confusion, then reassurances, apologies and eventually the restoration of peace.

Once I had dried my tears and my father had searched in vain for a pink-nosed visitor with chocolate covered whiskers my mother tipped the untouched eggs into cocktail glasses and salvaged the surviving adornments to attach to them.

Only after a delicious meal and lots of sympathy did I recover, helped along by the first sweet taste of the much-missed chocolate.

These days I keep the chocolate out of temptations way, my children posing more of a threat, I think, than mice!

Representing re-birth and new beginnings, Easter is a time of joy to share with friends and family. Sending an Ecard is a fun, fresh way to celebrate this most hopeful of the calendar’s holidays.

At www.katiescards.com I have created a collection of Easter ecards that are quick to preview and just as easy to send. It’s as simple as choosing your favourite E card, personalizing and emailing it, with a low-cost membership to the site that allows you to send E-cards on other occasions also- from birthday e-cards to Christmas e-cards and every special day in-between.

The selection of 4 Easter e cards features a mixture of colourful painted eggs, adorable chicks and blossoming flowers, each e-card designed to be a heart-warming greeting to remind a loved one you care about them.

So why not be an early bloomer and choose a cheerful Ecard to send to your nearest and dearest this Easter season?
Once again the time has come, to search high and low for that perfect Easter present. The shops are crammed to the rafters with chirping chicks, edible eggs and beautiful Easter baskets. Every year, hundreds of us attempt to celebrate Easter in a less conventional way but we still end up consuming Cadbury’s calories! The options are always limited, until now that is! Find Me A Gift have finished first in the Easter hunt this year with a different yet equally delicious set of Easter gifts.

When those April showers make Easter holidays dark and dismal, create some light indoors with a glowing Personalised Easter Candle. This beautiful beacon is the perfect way to put a smile on anyone’s face! Personalise this gift with a name at the top (max 12 characters) and a special message (max 30 characters) at the bottom. The centre of the candle is decorated with a cuddly Easter bunny!

If you simply can’t resist dragging and dropping an egg related gift into your online basket, you’ll need to handle the Personalised Fine China Egg with care! Choose from three beautifully decorated designs including an Easter bunny, an Easter chick or an Easter egg. A stylish Easter emblem, these traditionally shaped eggs can be personalised with a name on the front (max 12 characters) and a personal message on the reverse (max 50 characters).

For little ones who prefer their Easter eggs soft on the outside and runny on the inside why not treat them to a Personalised Easter Egg Cup? Choose between an Easter chick and an Easter bunny design and personalise with your child’s name (max 15 characters). This egg-cellent keepsake puts a personal twist on classic egg and soldiers! And if your little ones are still screaming for chocolate this Easter, sweeten those teeth with a nice cup of hot chocolate in their very own Personalised Easter Mug. This is also available in either an Easter chick or Easter bunny design. Choose the design that matches your egg cup or mix it up with the other design to get the best of both!

Last but by no means least on the Easter conveyor belt is the classic cuddly toy…all together now…ahhhhh! The Personalised Easter Bunny Basket with Cadbury’s Mini Eggs is perfect for any generation! This fluffy little friend even has its own Easter jumper so you can personalise its pullover with a name (max 12 characters) in either pink or blue thread. ‘Easter Bunny 2009’ is already embroidered on the jumper so all you have to do is state the name you’d like to add. This ideal gift will still satisfy those chocolate cravings and the beautiful bunny can be kept forever, unlike an empty foil wrapper!

Chocolate is always deemed a cop out as a gift solution for any birthday, Christmas or anniversary! Find Me A Gift offer many amazing alternatives to the endless Easter gift hunt. So although Easter always involves a high calorie intake, don’t let the chocolate craze eat you up!
We all know who the Easter bunny is and although we don’t quite understand his connection with the Christian Easter story, we all play along.

I’m a big fan of the Easter bunny, but I would never have thought of the bunny as something to buy at Easter time. But there are people who do, apparently. Myself and my wife run a number of online businesses. One of these specializes in soft toys and we’ve been completely taken by surprise. All our rabbits are literally hopping out the door!

So, cuddly bunnies are something to buy at Easter time. Who knew? Next year we’ll be more prepared. So what’s the lesson here? We think there are three main ones:

Be aware and prepared for seasonal opportunities relating to your business. They aren’t always obvious. Take our example - you might have thought of the chocolate, but did you think of the rabbits? Take a look at a calendar and note the major gift buying dates throughout the year and think carefully where the opportunities may lie for your business. Then factor this into your stock plan for the year.

Think outside the box. Seasonal factors also present an opportunity to sell products that wouldn’t normally fit in with your business. For example, you might be specialize in baby gifts but on Mother’s day, it would be appropriate to have a range of gifts for mummies too!

Always be prepared to take advantage of an unexpected opportunity. Luckily for us, we noticed an unusual increase in rabbit sales just in time. Keeping a close eye on sales patterns will allow you to pick up on unusual patterns which may give you some advance warning of a seasonal opportunity.

In conclusion, by not planning ahead, we may be missing out on valuable seasonal opportunities. When looking for these opportunities, we need to be open minded and be creative in what we judge to fit in with our business. Finally, we don’t always get it right and might not spot all the opportunities in advance. Keeping a close eye on sales will allow us to seize unexpected opportunities and make some profit from them.

The beautiful Easter eggs that we see today are a replica of the jeweled eggs that the Russian Tsars ordered during the biggest festival of Russian Orthodox Church.

The custom of handcrafting Faberge Eggs began in 1884 on the personal demand of the Czar for his wife, Czarina Maria. Faberge, a famed jeweler and businessman was an innovative man, who agreed to make an Easter egg for the Czarina each year. The Easter egg would always contain a special surprise and the Royal family looked forward to these intricately carved artifacts, with amazing workmanship.

The custom started and the jeweled Easter eggs slowly came to be known as Faberge Eggs. When the Czar passed away, his son continued the tradition and till the Russian Revolution.

Faberge used an innovative technique and came up with a color palette of 140 colors while layers of enamel fired after each application. This beautiful technique gave the Easter Eggs a beautiful shine and luster. The metals used were gold, silver, copper, nickel used in varying proportions with adornments of precious gems like diamond, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. A total of 54 eggs are famed worldwide.

However, even today the thirst to have and collect Faberge eggs has not diminished while the legacy of the expert craftsmanship was passed on down the generation. The technique of hand crafting Faberge eggs remains even today and there are many artists who specialize in making such exquisite Faberge eggs.

Faberge eggs are still quite a favorite with both collectors and people who love old fashioned artifacts! There are many stores that have high quality Faberge style Easter eggs, which are made to specific standardization and you can get one to suit your requirements. Faberge eggs are available to suit different budgets and tastes. All of them come with a beautiful handcrafted surprise that lends excitement to the owner.

Yes, there are many sites which sell good quality silver and semi precious stones studded Faberge eggs. You can judge the quality by seeing the 925 sterling silver marked on the base and always buy from a reputed art dealer.

With a variety of Faberge Eggs that range from cheap imitation varieties that are created from nickel to silver and gold. A beautiful, handcrafted Faberge egg makes a great gift that will be appreciated by the receiver as it is unique, has a royal history and expert craftsman still hold on to the skill of creating the perfect designs and encrusting it with gems. Sterling silver is commonly used as a base for the layered enamel work with semi precious gems studded on the surface. Delicately carved figurines can be seen inside that have all been handcrafted by master craftsmen.

Some Ideas For Easter Decorations And Table Setting
By Idalia Luczak

It’s like almost yesterday the Christmas happened and only in a minute we will be celebrating the Easter holiday! This Easter spirit is coming closer, closer in the weather. And because it is a spring time it won’t be so hard to decorate the house and make beautiful table setting.

The spirit and nice decorations are very important in celebrating Easter. They make our mood better, they live the house, make food more delightful. And one of the most important place in this celebration is of course dining room with its centered dining table. We spent most of our holiday Easter break on sitting at home and around the table - let’s make it look beautiful!

To do that you should be creative and use your imagination! As it was said, at the spring time it will be quite easy to make a beautiful table and home decorations. You just have to use some inspiration from nature and not forget to put an Easter touch in it.

Very helpful in doing that will be of course flowers. One or two pots may stand in the centre of the table. As good as pots with hyacinths or tulips might be vase with catkins and some handmade Easter eggs hanging on it. It’s good to decide on one type of plants to make the table look more elegant. But in the whole house we can put different flowers. For example different in children’s room and different in dining room to live up the house.

Flowers are also used to make other decorations. One of them are seasonal door wreaths that are welcoming visitors over the Easter holidays. The most beautiful one are hand-crafted with fresh foliage, herbs and moss, decorated with Easter nests, eggs and ribbons. You can do them on your own or buy them this time of the year in almost every shop with home accessories.

Setting the table on Easter holiday doesn’t differ so much from setting it for Christmas. The tablecloth and napkins should be of course clean and elegant. Both would probably look better if they had the same pattern - flowers, eggs or bunnies on it. Sometimes putting the tablecloth in one spring solid color (green, yellow) will also make a nice look. For example a green napkins with brown bunnies and a yellow tablecloth will make a great match!

In such occasions it is important not to put favourite, best plates and tablecloths we got. While having different kinds of dishes on the table and hosting many people there is slightly chance that some food might land on the table not on the plate, and some plates may end up on the floor. Thinking about that might make you nervous and the holiday atmosphere will be ruined for you.

Some of Easter decorations may also be putted on the chairs as embroidered napkins hanging at the back of the chair or colorful ribbons on it. You can use chairs to make a sweet surprise for your guests and family. Just put a big chocolate bunnies at all dining chairs and you will see how the grown ups are happy like a child. Why big bunnies? Because the small ones might not be visible to your friends and family, and someone might sit on them.

Don’t forget about the look of smaller tables at your home. Bedside table or coffee tables may also look nice if you change them the same way as dining table. Putting a white linen napkin and the vase with spring flours (tulips, pansies, daises etc.) will totally change the look of a living room and bedroom.. If you also put some pots with grass on the window-sills and hang some Easter eggs in few places when possible you will have the whole house done!

When everything is done there is nothing left to celebrate the Easter holidays with all the family and friends gathered around one table - in pleasant moods and beautiful surrounding.

Tasty eggs and happy Easter holidays!

We specialise in designing unique metal and glass furniture,
for instance contemporary coffee tables.

As we mentioned in previous articles, endometriosis growing somewhere else other than the endometrium also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle by building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. As we know, herbs play a very important role in some cultures in treating all kinds of diseases. In this article, we will discuss how anemone pulsatilla helps to treat endometriosis.

I. Definition

Anemone pulsatila is also known as wind flower or Easter flower. It is a wild plant that belongs to the family ranunculaceae which grows wild in Central and Northern Europe. It has been used in traditional medicine in treating disorders of the mucous membrane, of the respiratory, and of the digestive passages.

II. How anemone pulsatilla effects women with endometriosis

1. Antispsamodic

It is said that anemone pulsatilla can help to ease the muscle pain caused by overactive muscles as well as reducing the tension in the nervous system that causes symptoms of endometriosis such as irritation, sleeplessness, and anxiety.

2. Emmenagogue

Since it is an emmenagogue, it helps to release the blood stagnation in the abdominal region thus reducing the tension of the uterine muscles that cause menstrual cramps. It is one of the herbs that has been used in treating absence of period with some success.

3. Digestive system

Anemone pulsatila is said to have the ability to help the digestive system disorder caused by over-production of bad microorganisms in the intestines resulting in increasing the absorption of vital vitamins and minerals that are generally deficient in women with endometriosis during menstrual cycles.

4. Respiratory system

It is said that anemone pusatila helps to increase blood flow to the respiratory veins which helps to improve the oxygen absorption and strengthens the lung function.

5. Circulation system

Anemone pusatila also helps to increase the blood flow to the abdomen region during menstrual cycle, thus smoothing the muscles of uterus resulting in lessening the symptoms of menstrual cramps.

For how to find the best endometrial treatment

This year, Easter weekend falls between the 21st and 24th of March, and what better place to spend it than in London? Whether you’re looking for a family holiday, to enjoy nightlife or for a romantic getaway, London can offer everything you need for an unforgettable holiday break.

If you’re travelling with kids, London offers numerous venues for fun Easter egg hunts, including the Imperial War Museum, Kew Gardens; Osterley Park and House and Kenwood House, each with its own unique style of event. For example, the Imperial War Museum’s Easter Eggsploration event requires kids to travel between the exhibited war vehicles to locate different signs and signals to decorate the blank Easter egg provided on worksheets by copying them - and offers a prize for those completing the course.

As the largest city in Europe, London is home to numerous historical sights and exhibitions acknowledging its prime significance in British culture. For example, throughout Easter, the Tower of London hosts an interactive costumed event; recreating the Coronation of Richard III, teaching children about the sinister plots and backstabbing which led to Richard’s ascension to the throne of England.

The London Eye is hosting a spectacular light show sponsored by premium chocolate and confectionary brand, Lindt, to raise money for ChildLine - the 24-hour helpline for children and young people. Enlisting the talents of renowned Swiss light artist, Gerry Hofsetter and children’s author, Mimi Thebo, the show tells the story of children in search of a friend and someone to talk to. The London Eye landscape itself will be transformed into a fundraising Lindt Gold Bunny Wonderland, featuring face painting, stilt-walking Master Chocolatiers and delicious chocolate gold bunny giveaways.

The O2 state-of-the-art entertainment complex, situated in East London, is currently hosting a glittering Tutankhamun exhibition, offering various packages for those interested in the fascinating life and death of the Boy King. Classic American rock band The Eagles, best known for hits such as “Hotel California”, “Tequila Sunrise” and “Life in the Fast Lane” are also appearing at the venue in late March.

If clubbing is your passion, London has one of the most vibrant club scenes in the world, with Easter weekend offering a plethora of events, including the closing weekend of highly-influential venue Turnmills of London, featuring sets by The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and Sister Bliss (of Faithless fame).

Classical music lovers will also find their tastes catered for with Easter celebrations at the famous St Martin-in-the-Fields church on Trafalgar Square, offering an impressive programme this Passiontide, with works including Bach’s St John Passion, Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem.

So regardless of who you’re intending to bring and what you would like to do, Easter breaks in London can offer something for everyone.
